01 Overview #

Butcher is probably the class you see people complain about the most due to its absurd endgame ceiling. The actual gameplay to get there is quite a slog though

The Good

  • Good Clear/Singletarget
  • 40% Damage Reduction for Bossing
  • Incredible Endgame Scaling (Highest DPS pretty much every season)

The Bad

  • Very Bad early game
  • Low Resistances due no shield
  • Bad Movement Ability
  • Melee

04 Stats, Sockets & Stars #

Attributes

  • Strength 200
  • Dexterity 0
  • Intelligence 0
  • Energy 0
  • Armor 0
  • Vitality 200
Half:Half split on Str and Vit is the most viable for Hell, later on you can switch to full Strength if you have enough HP/Defenses
  • Deadly Blow% to do 35% extra Physical Damage on hit
  • Critical Chance
  • Critical Damage
  • Crushing Blowaround 5% is enough to proc enough Stacks (50% phys dmg buff)
  • Life Steal20% is needed to permantly stay in Unholy Form
  • Mana Steal2% to sustain casts/attacks
Enough to cap Deadly Blow with other gear
Until you can get 30% + ED Jewels in weapon

Star levels

When you start getting multiples of your S-tier Satanics, it might be time to attempt some star leveling. Star leveling S-tier Satanics requires Destiny Shards — used at the crafting bench, each shard has a chance to:
62%Upgrade by 1 star
26%Downgrade
12%Corrupt — all stars removed
Each star increases the stats of an item, including orange-text abilities and bonuses. It can also increase +Skill rolls that are NOT +All Skills — so +Elemental or +Physical skills can be scaled this way.

This can be done to SS-tier items too, but it requires higher-tier materials — not suggested until you have established yourself.

05 Level Trees #

Uses Slicing Throw because Blender will just make you die

07 Gear #

Butcher mainly uses 2 handed weapons altough you can use some higher damage 1h if you drop them / buy them for cheap

Takes the 60% Res node with 50% max cap do deal with early res issues, switch to the second tab if you dont need it

09 Mercenary #


This is an alternative Aura and MF hybrid for farming while also increasing damage and survivability using Crown of Doom and Pearlescence for extra magic damage.
