01 Overview #

Demonspawn, still in season 10, is one of the best casters to play.  With other more mobile teleport casters being changed and the reliance on getting a Sight of the Gods lowered, this means at the low and mid game the character is much better and keeps up with some of the other casters as their mobility has been harmed. At the hyper late game it does harm us as we are no longer able to acquire easy teleportation with Sight of the Gods at an infinite rate though it might still be useful to us when just farming. 

Either way outside of that, Demonspawn remains virtually untouched and is still a top-tier caster with amazing single-target.  Significant clear and fantastic utilization of things like the Felps ring. If the FPS changes promised in the patch notes go into effect the way they look, this should be a top-tier caster using Bone Barrage and, when extremely geared, Blood Surge for easy farming from a huge radius with tons of splash and chaining. 

The Good

  • Absolute godly clear that chains through enemies
  • Defensive capability with Mana Shield
  • Built in Defense/Movement buff on kill
  • Amazing Single Target Damage
  • Looks edgy and cool

The Bad

  • No Teleport/Mobility skills built in
  • Single-Target requires you to be hugging boss
  • Known Meta Arcane Caster(Contested/expensive gear)
  • FPS Issues when AOE Clearing with Surge or Barrage(MAYBE FIXED?)

02 Season Changes #

 Demonspawn received basically no endgame changes, which is actually a good thing for this class. It was balanced pretty heavily going from Season 8 to Season 9, losing a lot of its single-target damage and a lot of its effectiveness. It made it a pretty balanced in-line caster that has a good gear curve going all the way into the late-game mana-stack potential. 

The only change being a sub skill swap in Blood Bolts, moving the extra projectile node in place of the projectile speed node. Meaning early on, maybe at level 5, you could use them instead of impale for a little better time. Or potentially on your journey to 40 if you get stuck on a boss and need a little better range damage or single damage instead of standing next to them with Bone Storm. Though Bone Storm should be completely effective.

Star levels

When you start getting multiples of your S-tier Satanics, it might be time to attempt some star leveling. Star leveling S-tier Satanics requires Destiny Shards — used at the crafting bench, each shard has a chance to:
62%Upgrade by 1 star
26%Downgrade
12%Corrupt — all stars removed
Each star increases the stats of an item, including orange-text abilities and bonuses. It can also increase +Skill rolls that are NOT +All Skills — so +Elemental or +Physical skills can be scaled this way.

This can be done to SS-tier items too, but it requires higher-tier materials — not suggested until you have established yourself.

05 Leveling 1–100 #

1-8 on DemonSpawn isn’t great, but Impale did get buffed very early in season 9 so it helps a little. It’s still a rough little AoE to use. You could TRY bone frags at level 5 with the extra projectile sub-node but it’ll still not feel so great. Trust me just suffer through and hit level 8 and you will reach the promised land. Take the AoE sub node for Impale at level 5, the damage is pitiful.

Alternatively you could try the new Bloodbolts with a changed passive but I don't think it will be much better as you just need to grind out these eight levels and deal with it.

06 Level 100+ Skill Trees #

This is your primary single-target tree for doing maximum boss damage by getting close to the boss and shotgunning them with bone fragments. If you want a more defensive setup, you can remove points from single out and put them in mana shield instead to try to put more damage into your mana instead of your HP pool.  In a full mana stack scenario you would probably do this with your mana shield anyway.

07 Incarnation Tree #

Standard level 1 to 30 on Blood Surge. Our big node here is definitely duration as well as getting faster cast speed. We also deviate to take some mana regen as mana will be relatively tight early before we can pick up leech.

08 Gear #

A lot of early gear is extremely modular and can be moved around or changed depending on what you get or what you like. There are a lot of options here. The key is to get as much resistance as you can to survive while also focusing on damage and facilitating a lot of damage gain by filling sockets with flawless gems.

09 Mercenary #


This is an alternative Aura and MF hybrid for farming while also increasing damage and survivability using Crown of Doom and Pearlescence for extra magic damage.
